Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Application Architect to design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and reliable application infrastructure that meets organizational goals in a specialized industry. This role requires hands-on technical leadership, deep development expertise in .NET, C#, and JavaScript, and a strong understanding of agile practices and digital accessibility compliance. The ideal candidate will guide development teams, assess technical architecture, support solution design, and ensure alignment with product roadmaps and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement scalable application infrastructure and systems to meet complex organizational needs.
Lead development efforts from a hands-on technical perspective, including coding, data conversions, and integration work using .NET, C#, and JavaScript.
Review and provide feedback on code written by state staff and contracted developers.
Collaborate with scrum masters and cross-functional teams to track work items, resolve blockers, and meet sprint goals.
Create well-defined technical features and user stories ("enablers") that align with the product roadmap.
Prioritize and manage the ecosystem feature/user story backlog to support efficient agile delivery.
Participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.) and contribute to team feedback and continuous improvement.
Ensure full compliance with digital accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) by:
Embedding accessibility into product design and development.
Treating accessibility as a core compliance requirement.
Utilizing accessible frameworks, code libraries, and design systems.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in application architecture and hands-on development using .NET, C#, and JavaScript.
Strong understanding of Agile software development practices and Scrum methodology.
Experience writing and prioritizing technical user stories and backlogs.
Ability to conduct peer code reviews and mentor technical staff.
Deep knowledge of digital accessibility standards and how to integrate them into application development.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate technical and organizational complexity.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in public sector or regulated industries.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
Certifications in Agile (e.g., Certified Scrum Master) or Microsoft technologies.
